Adventures on Victoria Peak

June 20, 2020.  We head to the hills via the old cable cars.
 The cable car arrives

Rick is ready to board.

We arrive at the top of Victoria Peak and enjoy a beautiful view of central Hong Kong.

Hong Kong and Victoria Harbor are most scenic from this site.

In 1949 Matthew Cowley blessed the land of Hong Kong for the preaching of the gospel.  Hilton Robertson, the new mission president, scratched the date, July 14, 1949, in a nearby rock.   We finally discover the etched markings.  One must know where to search or the faint scratches cannot be found.

The Conrad Hotel!  This reminds us of someone.

The sculpture creations at the hotel are most interesting.

This art portrays a fun concept.  We happened on this site after making a wrong turn somewhere on our trek down the peak.  6 miles later we found ourselves in Wan Chai, the Church office building’s neighborhood.  What an adventure.

These beautiful girls approached and asked if we were Mormon Missionaries.  Cara and Sheena are tennis players.  We talked to them about MaryAnne’s experience.  Cara will be attending BYU in the fall on a full scholarship.  Sheena, a Japanese Canadian, must wait a year.  Her best friend is a member of the church and told her she should investigate.  We wholeheartedly agreed.  Our name tags break the ice for so many wonderful conversations.
