June 2020 Return to OGC office - 10th floor celebrations

OGC enjoys a ‘Root Beer Float 4th Friday’ each month.  Upon our return the tradition began again.  However, employees throughout the Church Office Building were invited to join at social distancing times of 15 minutes.  That didn’t happen.  As I saw these happy (unmasked) faces I realized they’d not had a social gathering in over 4 months.  No one wanted to leave at the end of 15 minutes.  The 10th floor gathering area was soon crowded and filled with laughter.  We basked in this joyous reunion and prayed Corona wouldn’t reappear.

Polly, from our OGC office, took charge of the event.  Elder and Sister Latimer are in the background.

These church employees enjoyed the chance to visit and visit and visit.

I can’t survive without these marvelous people from the tech department.  Sharon (on the right) has been my personal guide through multiple computer adjustments to help launch my new assignment with TPAF.

We had a blast catching up with these wonderful people.

Anna, Selina, Ludmilla, and Polly navigate the 10th floor kitchenette.

Helen (Travel Department) takes care of all my missionary passports.

Sister Blackwell (second day out of quarantine) is surrounded by many happy ladies from HR.

A week later we celebrated Sister Thredgold’s birthday.  Note the delicious cake with thin strips of mango as frosting.

More birthdays!!  Sister Latimer and Steve join in the birthday song in Mandarin (Both served missions in Taiwan).  Annie, Lance, Polly, Jennifer and Selina must sing their Cantonese birthday song.
Another spectacular birthday cake covered in fresh fruit.  The inner layers are separated with fruit filled cream.  The cake is light and not too sweet.  We enjoyed this tasty piece of art.
